CPS Policies

Class Attendance
Students whose accrued unexcused absences in any course exceed 20% of the total days of attendance shall not pass the course.

Assessment of Student Work
Departmental final exams shall constitute at least 10% of the student's final semester grade.

Service Learning Requirement
Effective June 2005, students will be required to earn 20 hours of service learning credit prior to June 15 in order to be promoted to junior status. Students who complete the service learning requirement between June 15 and December 31 will remain in sophomore divisions until the end of the first semester.

GRADE REQUIREMENTS

9th to 10th grade

Completion of 5 units of credit
Passing grades in 3 ninth grade core courses during both semesters

10th to 11th grade

Completion of 11 units of credit
Passing grades in 3 tenth grade core courses duirn both semesters
Completion of 20 hours of community service learning (effective June 2005)

11th to 12th grade

Completion of 17 units of credit Graduation
Completion of 24 units of credit in specified courses
Completion of 40 hours of community service learning
Pass of PL195, Driver Education, Consumer Education
