As you are aware, the City of Chicago is preparing to host the upcoming NATO summit at McCormick Place. Some parents have asked whether there will be any impact to Chicago Public Schools and if there were any special precautions that were being taken by Chicago Public Schools. Based on discussions with the NATO Summit organizers, the CTA and the Chicago Police Department, other than some possible traffic delays, we are not anticipating any significant issues to our school's daily operations... The Taft Lady Eagles Softball Team have advanced to the City Final Four! They'll play Whitney Young on Friday at UIC at 5pm to decide who goes to the City Championship. LSC Election Results
The results are in a your new Local School Council has been decided. Senior Picnic - TICKET STILL AVAILABLE!
The Class of 2012 Senior Picnic will be held on May 24th, from 4th-8th period. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased in the Box Office or the Main Office. The ticket price will include food & drinks, games, music, entertainment and a class of 2012 T-Shirt. See Ms. Cummins or Ms. Martinez with any questions. Ticket sales will continue until May 18th. MONDAY: Favorite Sports Team Day, TUESDAY: Country Western Day, WEDNESDAY: Career/College Day, THURSDAY: Blast-from-the-Past Day (Decades Day), FRIDAY: Hawaiian Day. Remember shorts, open-toed shoes and tank tops are never permitted and, generally, all clothing must be appropriate for school.
